Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle Presents Budget in Nepali Paper File

Kathmandu. The budget for the fiscal year 2083/84 has been brought in a Nepali paper file. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has brought the budget in a Nepali paper file, breaking the tradition of the past. 

Previously, the budget was brought in a briefcase. Finance Minister Wagle entered the Council of Ministers meeting carrying the budget file from the Ministry of Finance.  Past finance ministers used to present the budget by keeping it in a bag. But Finance Minister Wagle has made a new beginning.

Past finance ministers used to carry the budget statement in a red suitcase. But recently, former finance ministers Barshaman Pun and Bishnu Poudel carried the budget in a bag made of Allo in Nepal, even leaving the suitcase behind. 

Wagle has prepared the budget for the upcoming fiscal year not in a bag made in Nepal as before, but in a Nepali paper file.  After the Council of Ministers approves the budget, it is scheduled to be read in parliament at 4 PM.
