Madesh Province Government Unveils Policy and Program with 20 Slogans for Prosperity

Kathmandu. The Madhesh Province government has included various slogans in its upcoming fiscal year's policy and program. The plans set for the prosperity of the province have been adorned through 20 slogans.

The 'Madhesh Province Government's Policy and Program,' presented by Province Chief Surendra Labh Karna in the Province Assembly on Friday, states that the Madhesh Province government is fully committed to realizing the vision of building a prosperous Madhesh by appropriately utilizing the province's unique identity, geographical location, and demographic advantages.

The slogan 'Made in Madhesh, Prosperous Province' has been put forward at the beginning of the policy and program. Keeping this slogan in mind, under the campaign 'Productive Madhesh, Self-reliant Country,' programs to increase agricultural production and productivity will be conducted to enhance self-sufficiency in food grains.

Similarly, under the slogan 'Farmer's Pride, Madhesh's Makhana,' the commercial development and expansion of Makhana cultivation, which carries the unique identity of the province, will be undertaken.

With the slogan 'The Main Basis of Agriculture, Improving Soil Health,' the policy and program also include prioritizing the use of organic, biological vermicompost, green manure, and bacterial fertilizers to significantly increase the organic matter content in the soil.

The Madhesh government has set a target of providing employment to at least one thousand people under the slogan 'Our Province, Our Employment.'

Likewise, the policy and program also include the goal of launching an intensive literacy program with the slogan 'Send Your Children to School, Light the Lamps of Literacy.'

Under the slogan 'Full Immunization, Safe Motherhood, and Balanced Diet: The Main Basis of a Healthy and Prosperous Madhesh,' the province government has set a goal to implement multi-sectoral nutrition programs, including the distribution of nutritious food items, to promote maternal and child health with full immunization and reduce malnutrition.

Similarly, under the slogan 'My Health - My Responsibility,' the province government aims to expand basic health services to villages and settlements by establishing and operating Citizen Health Service Centers in coordination with local levels.

Under the slogan 'Inclusive Society, Empowered Madhesh,' the Madhesh government has included in the policy and program the goal of conducting special employment and self-employment programs for the empowerment and economic advancement of women, youth, Dalits, persons with disabilities, gender minorities, marginalized, and impoverished communities.

Likewise, under the slogan 'Women's Skills and Courage, Confidence for Madhesh Development,' the province government's policy and program mention providing policies for skill development, technology transfer, and easy financial access to women.

Under the slogan 'Educated Daughters: Safe Madhesh, Entrepreneurial Women: Prosperous Province,' the province government has revised the previous 'Chief Minister's Daughter Education, Daughter Protection' program.

The Madhesh government will ban single-use plastics and promote the use of biodegradable alternatives under the slogan 'Plastic-free Madhesh, Clean and Healthy Environment.'

Similarly, under the policy 'Health Education for a Healthy Society,' the province government has put forward the goal of prioritizing the implementation of programs related to health education, physical education, moral education, and information and communication technology at school and community levels.

Likewise, under the slogan 'Choose Sports, Quit Drugs,' the province government has set a goal to actively engage the youth population in sports and creative activities to keep them away from drug addiction.

With the main slogan 'Expansion of Sports Infrastructure and Talent Identification: A New Campaign for Sports Development for a Prosperous Madhesh,' the province government has put forward programs for the professional development of the province's sports sector by constructing modern infrastructure and identifying and enhancing the capabilities of players from the grassroots level.

Similarly, under the slogan 'Basis of Agricultural Transformation, Technology and Infrastructure,' the province government has included in its policy and program plans to provide modern technology and tools to farmers to increase production through the commercialization, industrialization, and mechanization of agricultural products.

The province government will develop and implement an integrated system for disaster risk reduction, preparedness, response, and recovery under the slogan 'Disaster Preparedness: Our Responsibility.'

Under the slogan 'Electric Vehicle Distribution and Expansion, Strong Basis for Employment for Workers,' the Madhesh government has put forward a policy to promote the use and operation of electric vehicles to promote an environmentally friendly transportation system and establish charging stations through public-private partnerships.

'One Tree Cut, Ten Trees Grown' slogan: The Madhesh government has put forward a plan to plant ten new trees for every tree cut during infrastructure construction and protect them for five years.

Likewise, under the slogan 'Green Madhesh, Save the Province,' the province government has put forward a plan to effectively coordinate and collaborate with local levels and the private sector to carry out large-scale tree planting and conservation on vacant and unused public and private land.

Under the slogan 'Digital Madhesh, Technology-Friendly Province,' the Madhesh government has set a goal to establish an 'IT Hub and Incubation Center' to encourage technical capacity development and innovation, enabling youth to work for the global market while staying within the country.
