Agriculture Minister Gita Chaudhary Aims to Sell NPR 100 Billion Timber in Upcoming Fiscal Year

Kathmandu. Agriculture, Forest and Environment Minister Gita Chaudhary has stated that NPR 100 billion worth of timber will be sold in the upcoming fiscal year. Responding to questions raised by members of the Federal Parliament, Minister Chaudhary said that the goal is to work for economic development from the forest sector.  

Chaudhary expressed confidence in becoming completely self-reliant in timber and stated that the government has already decided to prioritize domestic timber. 

According to Minister Chaudhary, 30 million cubic feet of timber is produced from all types of forests in Nepal.
