Landslide Blocks Beni-Jomsom-Korala Road Section in Myagdi

Myagdi. The Myagdi section of the Beni-Jomsom-Korala road, which connects Mustang to the China border at the Korala pass, has been obstructed since early this morning. A landslide in Upper Bhaisari (Siruwari) of Raghuganga Rural Municipality-2 in Myagdi has severed direct transportation links on the 76-kilometer Beni-Jomsom road. According to Sagar Timilsina, Inspector at the District Police Office, equipment has been mobilized to clear the obstructed road in coordination with the Department of Roads and the Beni-Jomsom-Korala Road Project. Vehicles traveling from Beni towards Mustang and from Jomsom towards Beni are stranded midway due to the road obstruction. Local residents, as well as tourists and pilgrims traveling to Mustang for visits and Muktinath darshan, have been affected. The problem of landslides occurring as soon as it rains in the Siruwari area has been recurring. The landslide has become a major challenge for the regular and smooth operation of transportation on the Beni-Jomsom road.
