Speaker Aryal: Prime Minister Balendra Shah Ready to Address Parliament

Kathmandu. Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal has informed that Prime Minister Balendra Shah is preparing to be present in the parliament and answer the questions raised by the members of parliament.

Speaker Aryal clarified this on Tuesday during the House of Representatives meeting after opposition parties obstructed the session demanding the Prime Minister's response. Addressing the meeting, Speaker Aryal mentioned that the demands raised by the opposition parties are just, constitutional, and in accordance with the rules.

He stated that he is continuously communicating with the leader of the opposition party, chief whip, and the chief whip of the ruling party to remove the obstruction in the parliament. He clarified that it is necessary to advance the programs on the agenda as the time for the new budget to be presented is approaching in the next few days.

He also specially urged the honorable members to cooperate in order not to affect the parliamentary schedule and to create an environment for addressing the queries of the sovereign members of parliament.

Speaking in the meeting, Speaker Aryal said, 'The Prime Minister is fully aware of the ongoing activities in the house and the issues raised by the honorable members. According to the information received from the chief whip of the ruling party, the Prime Minister is ready to answer the queries and questions of the members of parliament and he will be present in the house soon.'

The Speaker made such an appeal to resume the session after the opposition parties created obstruction in the house demanding the Prime Minister's official stance on various contemporary issues.
