One Arrested with Bharuwa Gun in Sarlahi

Sarlahi. One person has been arrested with a Bharuwa gun in Barahathawa Municipality of Sarlahi. The arrested person has been identified as Buddhiman Ghalan, 38, a resident of Sukumbasi Tole, Ward No. 2, Bagmati Municipality.

According to the police, based on secret information that some unknown individuals were seen walking around with a Bharuwa gun in Laukat Tole, Ward No. 12, Barahathawa Municipality on Monday, a joint team dispatched from the Area Police Office, Barahathawa and Area Police Office, Hirapur, started a search.

During the search, the group of 4 people tried to flee upon seeing the police team. While fleeing, the police succeeded in apprehending Buddhiman Ghalan, but the other individuals managed to escape.

During the search of the arrested Ghalan, police seized 1 Bharuwa gun, 1 iron rod to be used in the gun, 175 grams of gunpowder, 80 iron bullets, and 5 pieces of iron rod fragments from his possession, the police said.

A 7-day remand has been extended from the Sarlahi District Court for the arrested Ghalan to investigate the case of 'possession of arms and ammunition'. The search for the other absconding individuals is ongoing, and further investigation into the incident is underway, informed the Area Police Office, Barahathawa.
