Punjabi Singer Diljit Dosanjh's House Receives Bomb Threat

New Delhi. Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh's house has received a bomb threat. An email was sent to the official mailbox of the Municipal Commissioner at 7:28 AM on Monday. The email mentioned that bombs would explode at Dosanjh's house as well as at the house and office of Ludhiana Mayor Inderjit Kaur. The subject of the email was written as 'Bomb Blast Mayor's Office, Ludhiana'. It is said that the time of the explosion was also mentioned in it. The message warned that an attack would be carried out on the Mayor of Ludhiana at 1:11 PM and a bomb would explode at the house of Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh at 9:11 PM. The email stated that anyone supporting Diljit Dosanjh would be targeted. The message also used provocative and violent language, referring to the 1984 Sikh riots. The message claimed that many places would be targeted through a series of bomb explosions by June 6. The email ended by associating it with the name of a separatist organization. Security agencies are still investigating its authenticity. Following the threat, the police evacuated the municipal corporation offices as a precaution and conducted a search operation throughout the premises. During the investigation, the bomb squad and security personnel searched the office premises and surrounding areas. In the preliminary investigation, no suspicious object was found, after which the employees were allowed to re-enter the office. Security has been increased at other sensitive locations, including the Mayor's office. The cyber cell is working to identify and trace the IP address of the sender of the email. Police officials said that the matter is being investigated seriously and official information will be shared only after a full investigation.
