Youth Protest for South Korea Employment Permits

Kathmandu. Youth waiting to go to South Korea under the Employment Permit System (EPS) demonstrated at Maitighar Mandala on Monday.

The youth, who came out in protest with slogans like 'Send those who passed to Korea' and 'Ensure the right to employment', demanded that the government arrange to send them to South Korea quickly.

Their complaint is that thousands of youth have been waiting for a long time to go to Korea even after completing the EPS language test and necessary procedures. The protesters said that they are unable to go because of the non-arrival of labor agreements even after being 'rostered' by Korean employers, limited labor quotas, delays in procedures, and administrative complexities.

Youth participating in the protest said that they spent years passing the language test and invested a large amount of money in training and paperwork, but they are unable to go to Korea for employment. They have demanded that the government make the process transparent, increase the labor quota, and arrange for them to be sent quickly.
