Two Nepali Cricketers Selected for European Cricket Tournament; National Team Announced for Asian Games Qualifier

Kathmandu. Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) has informed that two players of the Nepali national cricket team have been selected for the European cricket tournament. 

According to a press release issued by CAN spokesperson Chumbi Lama, all-rounder Gulshan Jha and batter Ishan Pandey of the Nepali team have been selected for the tournament to be held in Belgium.

They have been contracted for the 'EU T-20 Belgium' tournament starting from June 6, 2026. CAN has stated that both these Nepali players will compete by taking the field on behalf of the JB Bruges team in that tournament.

Meanwhile, CAN has announced the Nepali national cricket team for the upcoming Asian Games Qualifier to be held in Singapore. 

According to the press release issued by spokesperson Lama, a 14-member team has been selected for the 'Men's Asian Games Qualifier 2026' to be held from May 31 to June 9, 2026. Jha and Pandey are not included in this.

This time, CAN has entrusted the responsibility of captaincy to all-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee. Kushal Bhurtel, Asif Sheikh, Rohit Paudel, Sandeep Jora, and Lokesh Bam are included in the announced team. Similarly, Kushal Malla, Sandeep Lamichhane, Sher Malla, Nandan Yadav, and Arif Sheikh have found a place in the team. 

Fast bowlers Sompal Kami, Karan KC, and spinner Sahab Alam have also been selected.
