Energy Minister Inspects Power Dispatch Center

Kathmandu. Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Biraj Bhakta Shrestha inspected the Electricity System and Operation Department (Load Dispatch Center) of Nepal Electricity Authority located in Syuchatar. Minister Shrestha inspected the Electricity System and Operation Department (Load Dispatch Center) of Nepal Electricity Authority located in Syuchatar this evening. During the inspection, Minister Shrestha took information about the operation of the country's overall electricity system, grid electricity supply management, and the current status of cross-border electricity purchase and sale with neighboring countries. During the inspection, the head of the Load Dispatch Center, Chandan Ghosh, informed Minister Shrestha about the balance of Nepal's electricity demand and supply, technical challenges in the system, and the technical aspects of electricity import-export with India. After the inspection, Minister Shrestha said that strengthening the system is essential for the country's energy security and reliable electricity supply. He directed to increase domestic consumption, export surplus electricity to gain economic benefits, and efficiently manage the electricity demand during winter. Minister Shrestha stated that the ministry will provide necessary support to make the electricity system more modern and technology-friendly and to minimize potential technical risks. The inspection was attended by the Acting Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority, Dirghayukumar Shrestha, along with Minister Shrestha.
