Local governments offer effective health care services

Butwal –At a time when some local governments are criticized for imposing heavy tax on people, the local levels in Rupandehi district, however, are praised for offering effective health care services from the community health centres. 


The local governments have expanded the health care services from the rural health institutions for their bids to deliver accessible and quality health care services to the people at their doorsteps. 


Tilottama Municipality in the district has brought community health laboratory services into operation in Kadariya Health Post in Ward-8 and 4 from Wednesday. Marking the beginning of the service, Mayor of the Municipality, Basudev Ghimire, pledged further assistance for the smooth functioning of the lab through human resources management and infrastructure development in order to ensure its sustainability. 


In-charge of the Health Post, Pitambar Pathak, said that tests of malaria and tuberculosis are provided for free while very nominal charge is fixed for other tests. The officials have hoped that more service seekers in the health post. 


Likewise, urban health care promotion centre has been started at Milan Park area in Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-12 from Wednesday. The Sub-Metropolitan City has marked the beginning of infrastructure development, expansion of technology and equipments and health care service programmes at once. 


Mayor of Sub-Metropolitan City Shiva Raj Subedi said that they were highly sensitive towards the issues of public health adding that, “Not only treatment services, the centre was brought into operation to aware the people about health and promote preventive measures.” (Photo Available)
