Weather Forecast: Western and Local Winds Influence Nepal

Kathmandu. Currently, Nepal is under the influence of westerly winds, local winds, and a low-pressure area near the eastern parts of Nepal, according to the Weather Forecasting Division. As a result, Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces are generally cloudy. The remaining hilly and mountainous regions have partly cloudy skies. The Terai regions are mostly clear. Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is occurring in some places in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

This afternoon, Koshi province, as well as the mountainous and hilly regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, will generally be cloudy. The Terai regions of Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and the mountainous and hilly regions of the remaining provinces will be partly cloudy. Light to moderate rain and snowfall are possible in a few places in the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in one or two places in the mountainous and hilly regions of Madhesh, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, as well as in the Terai regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. Hot days are possible in the hilly and Terai regions of Sudurpashchim and Lumbini provinces.

Tonight, the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will generally be cloudy. The Terai regions of Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and the mountainous and hilly regions of the remaining provinces will be partly cloudy. The remaining Terai regions will be mostly clear. Light to moderate rain and snowfall with thunderstorms are possible in some places in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in one or two places in Madhesh province, the Division stated.
