Pokhara Metropolis Directs Squatters in Buspark Area to Submit Details Within 3 Days

Pokhara. Pokhara Metropolitan City has issued an order for the squatters residing in the buspark area of Prithvi Chowk to submit their details within 3 days. Landless Dalits, squatters, and unmanaged residents living in the buspark have been asked to submit their details to the ward office.

Issuing a notice on Wednesday, the metropolis also provided a format for the application and asked for the details to be submitted. The land, owned by the Pokhara Valley City Development Committee, has already had its clearance distributed by the metropolitan city. Now, squatters must appear at the ward office with their documents by Jestha 8.

For this, the metropolis has stated that a copy of the clearance distributed by the metropolitan city, a copy of the citizenship of the head of household and family members, and a proof of relationship or self-declaration letter between the head of household and family members must also be submitted.

The names, ages, occupations, citizenship or birth registration numbers, relationships, educational qualifications, and disability status of the family members must be disclosed. The notice states that the metropolis will not be responsible if the details are not submitted within the stipulated time. Pokhara is preparing to remove squatters from the buspark area.

Previously, preparations were being made after discussions with the security bodies in the district. Stakeholders have also expressed their commitment to support the construction of the buspark.

It is estimated that there are more than 400 squatters in the buspark area. A study report mentions that out of 205 ropanis of land acquired in 2032 BS, less than 50 ropanis remain due to encroachment in various names.
