Justice Regmi Loses Seniority as Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma Becomes Chief Justice

Kathmandu. With Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma becoming Chief Justice at the Supreme Court, Justice Kumar Regmi's senior-most position has been removed. Regmi, who was a member of the Judicial Council, has also lost his membership.

Previously, acting Chief Justice Sapana Malla was the senior-most judge in the Judicial Council, and Regmi was the senior-most judge. From Tuesday, Malla, who stepped down as acting Chief Justice, has become the senior-most judge.

After stepping down as acting Chief Justice, the Supreme Court administration has arranged for Justice Malla to have a chamber on the third floor of the annex building.
