MP Dhakal Demands Strict Action Against Hospitals, Fair Pay for Health Workers

Kathmandu.  Member of Parliament Prabha Dhakal has demanded that the government take strict action against hospitals and health institutions operating in violation of standards.  

Speaking in the meeting of the House of Representatives held on Tuesday, she made such a demand, stating that irregularities have increased in the country's health sector.  

In addition, MP Dhakal also pointed out the need for the government to immediately arrange for appropriate remuneration for health workers working on the front lines. She stated that it is necessary for the government to respect health workers by fully implementing the fundamental right to health clearly mentioned in the Constitution of Nepal.  

Expressing concern over the current health condition of the country, MP Dhakal said, 'Health services are declining. Patients and their relatives are forced to complain. Why has the fundamental right to health guaranteed by the constitution not been implemented in practice? The government should take strict action against hospitals and health institutions that do not meet the standards. And the government should provide respectable remuneration to health workers.'

MP Dhakal also expressed strong dissatisfaction, stating that the government has not been able to make concrete efforts towards making the health services available to the general public of quality and reliable. She drew the government's attention to the fact that health services are weakening due to government indifference, causing hardship to the general public.
