CPN-UML Parliamentary Party Leader Dangal Demands Sufficient Time for Proposed Chief Justice Hearing

Kathmandu. CPN (UML) National Assembly Parliamentary Party Leader Prem Prasad Dangal has demanded that the parliamentary hearing process for the proposed Chief Justice should not be rushed and sufficient time should be provided for study.

Speaking at the meeting of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee held on Tuesday, leader Dangal mentioned that proceeding without adequate preparation and analysis on serious constitutional matters would not uphold the dignity of the hearing. Expressing disagreement with the work schedule presented by the committee chairperson at the meeting, Dangal stated that the work schedule was extremely busy and rushed.

According to leader Dangal, the 16 complaints received against the proposed Chief Justice are detailed and of a serious nature. He argued that committee members need time for a thorough study and analysis of these complaints, which were registered via email and physically, as well as the work plan presented by the proposed Chief Justice.

He objected to the fact that while 10 days were given for complaints, the time for study has been narrowed down. He requested at least one day's time for study. Leader Dangal drew the committee's attention to the fact that although committee members need at least two days to study all the documents, he requested for a minimum of one day's time.
