Western and Local Winds Affecting Nepal, Light to Moderate Rain Expected

Kathmandu. Currently, the influence of western and local winds is present in Nepal, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. Due to this influence, there is generally cloudy weather in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. There is partly cloudy weather in the Terai regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and the remaining hilly and mountainous regions. The weather in the remaining Terai regions is mainly clear. Light to moderate rain is occurring in some places in the hilly regions of Koshi and Bagmati provinces.

This afternoon, there will be generally cloudy weather in the remaining hilly and mountainous regions including Koshi province. There will be partly cloudy weather in the Terai regions of Madhesh province, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, while the remaining Terai regions will remain mainly clear.

There is a possibility of rain and snowfall in some places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, in a few places in the remaining hilly and mountainous regions, and in one or two places in the Terai regions of Madhesh province, Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces until midday. There is a possibility of hot days in the Terai regions of Sudurpashchim and Lumbini provinces.

Tonight, there will be generally cloudy weather in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. There will be partly cloudy weather in Madhesh province and the remaining hilly and mountainous regions. The weather in the remaining Terai regions will remain mainly clear. The Department has stated that there is a possibility of light rain with thunderstorms and snowfall in some places in Koshi and Gandaki provinces, and in one or two places in Madhesh, Bagmati, and Lumbini provinces.
