Rastriya Prajatantra Party Leaders Meet to Discuss Upcoming Convention and Leadership

Kathmandu. Activities have started targeting the upcoming General Convention of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP).

In this regard, a meeting of leaders held in the capital on Monday, coordinated by leader Jagat Gauchan, decided to support the leadership that can vigorously advance the issues of monarchy and Hindu nation.

The meeting decided to unite the party and promote a nationalist leadership that maintains a clear stance on the agenda of the monarchy, Gauchan said.

More than two dozen central members and other leaders were present at the meeting. According to Gauchan, a serious discussion was held at the meeting regarding the strategy and leadership for the party's upcoming general convention.

The participating members emphasized the need to unite the party without allowing it to split in the upcoming general convention and to bring a person with the image of a 'confirmed royalist' and nationalist to the leadership, he said.

Leaders Bharat Rayamajhi, Prakashjung Karki, Pralhad Shah, Minbahadur Shahi, Gopi Chandra Sharma, Kedar Koirala, Pooja Rana and other leaders were present at the meeting.

Leaders participating in the meeting expressed the view that the upcoming leadership should not be just for positions but should be a vigorous person who can take the issues of monarchy and Hinduism to their destination.

Gauchan said, 'Our main objective is to go to the general convention by uniting the party. Although we have not yet identified any specific person, we have agreed to bring a vigorous person with monarchist, nationalist, and Hinduist thinking to the leadership in the general convention.' He also demanded that the party's general convention be completed as soon as possible and the leadership be decided.

Especially, voices were raised in the meeting to bring young and vigorous royalist leaders to the forefront of the leadership. Leaders participating in the meeting expressed the view that the current need is for leadership that can encompass the party's core principles and the sentiments of the people.

Although RPP leaders have demanded that the date of the general convention be announced immediately, the date has not been announced yet. Rather, the Central Working Committee meeting on Jestha 1 had decided to form a committee to prepare the schedule.
