Woman Dies in Soil Pile Collapse in Kanchanpur

Kanchanpur. A woman from Tilki, Shuklaphanta Municipality-12, died today after being buried in a soil pile. According to the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, about 40-year-old Harduliya Rana, a resident of Tilki, Shuklaphanta Municipality-12, died on the spot while digging soil for plastering a house in the Itaha area of Laljhadi Rural Municipality-4. Locals rescued another woman, about 55-year-old Sundariya Rana, who was buried inside the soil pile, in an injured condition. She sustained an injury to her right leg and her condition is reported to be moderate. According to Ward Chairman Naval Singh Rana, the injured Sundariya has been taken to Dhangadhi, Kailali, for treatment. The body has been kept at Shreepur Primary Health Centre for post-mortem. Two other people who had gone to dig soil at the time of the incident are safe.
