Four members of a single family missing after landslide
Nuwakot - Four members of a single family are reported missing after a monsoon – triggered landslide buried their home at Pairebeshi of Uttargaya rural municipality – 4 of Rasuwa.
Four others were rescued alive but with injuries from the rubble of the landslide that came crashing down over the village at 9 am following incessant downpour all evening on Sunday.
72 – year – old Dharma Bahadur Thapa Magar, daughter – in – law Muna Thapa Magar, 27, grandson Rabin Thapa Magar, 3, and helper Bhakta Bahadur Nagarkoti, 70 are missing.
The Rasuwa's Nepal Police and Nepal Army squad from the Srinath Battalion in Devighat are facing hurdles in the rescue work due to continuing mudslide and falling stones from above the hill.
Among the injured, the condition of Rudra Thapa Magar and Devaki Thapa Magar is said to be critical. All of the injured are undergoing treatment at a local health institute at Shanti Bazaar of Manakamana in Nuwakot. The authorities have not been able to rush them to the hospital as multiple landslides have blocked the road.
Rasuwa's Chief District Officer (CDO), Chomendra Neupane, said multiple landslides along the road from Khalde area in Laharepauwa to Pairebesi have disrupted rescue efforts with responders unable to reach the incident site.
