Five Dead in Separate Road Accidents Across Nepal

Kathmandu. Five people have died in separate road accidents in various places across the country. In these accidents in Kathmandu, Sarlahi, Dhanusha, and Saptari, 11 other people were injured. In Kathmandu's Jadibuti, near Manohara Bridge, a truck parked with number Ba.Pra 06-001 Kha 0573 and a jeep with number Pra.3-01-023 Cha 0310 collided, resulting in the death of 50-year-old Sitaram Dhungana, a resident of Thimi, originally from Sindhupalchok. He died during treatment at Trauma Center after being seriously injured in the accident that occurred on Thursday morning. Two other injured in the accident are undergoing treatment at the same hospital, and the truck driver has been taken into police custody. In Sarlahi's Hariban Municipality-11, Kadariya Chowk, a pedestrian died on the spot after being hit by a bus on Wednesday night. The identity of the approximately 40-year-old male, who died after being hit by bus Ba.Pra-01-006 Kha 9670, has not yet been ascertained. Police have taken the bus driver into custody and are investigating. Similarly, in Dhanusha's Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City-18, a cyclist died after being hit by a motorcycle. The approximately 55-year-old male, who was seriously injured after being hit by Madhesh Pradesh-02-006 Pa 9440, died during treatment at Provincial Hospital Janakpur. In Mithila Municipality-10, Lalgarh, Dhanusha, an EV Hiace van lost control and met with an accident, killing 75-year-old Bijuli Chaudhary from Saptari. The Hiace with number Ma.Pra 01-001 Ja 0154, which was traveling from Bara to Lahan, met with an accident on Thursday morning. Nine other passengers in the Hiace were injured in the accident and are undergoing treatment at Model Hospital Lalgarh. Police are searching for the Hiace driver who is currently absconding. In Saptari's Kanchanrup Municipality-8, 55-year-old Hanif Miya died when a motorcycle collided with a tractor. Miya, who was seriously injured after the motorcycle collided with tractor Pr.2-01-001 Ta 1713 on Wednesday night, died during treatment at Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital. Another person on the motorcycle is undergoing treatment at Nobel Hospital Biratnagar. Police stated that the absconding tractor driver is being searched for and further investigation is being conducted into all accidents.
