Three Arrested in Bardiya, Rolpa, and Solukhumbu for Rape

Kathmandu. Police have arrested three people on charges of rape in Bardiya, Rolpa, and Solukhumbu. Police teams have taken them under control based on complaints of involvement in rape incidents that occurred in separate locations.

Sushil Sunar, 28, of Ganatantra Tole, Madhuwan Municipality-6, has been arrested on charges of raping an 18-year-old girl in Bardiya. Police said that Sushil was arrested on Tuesday afternoon by a police team dispatched from the Area Police Office, Dhodhari, after a complaint was filed that he had raped the girl.

Similarly, Raju KC, 36, of Ghoragaon, Sunilsmriti Rural Municipality-1, has been arrested on charges of raping a 22-year-old woman in Rolpa. A police team dispatched from the Area Police Office, Sulichaur, took him under control on Tuesday night after receiving a complaint that Raju had raped the woman.

In Solukhumbu, Rasant Kulung, 32, of Gudel, Mahakulung Rural Municipality-5, has been arrested on charges of raping 24-year-old Yaswati. A complaint was filed with the police stating that Rasant had forcibly raped the woman. Based on that complaint, a team dispatched from the Bung Police Post arrested him on Tuesday afternoon.

The police offices in the respective districts have initiated necessary legal proceedings against all three arrested individuals and are conducting further investigations.
