MP Suresh Ale Magar Condemns PM's Absence During Presidential Address

Kathmandu. Nepali Communist Party MP Suresh Ale Magar said that the Prime Minister's insult to the President in parliament is unbearable. Speaking in the National Assembly meeting on Wednesday, he claimed that Prime Minister Balendra Shah's absence during President Ram Chandra Paudel's reading of the government's policy and program was an insult to the President. MP Ale Magar demanded that Prime Minister Shah himself appear in parliament to provide information on this matter. Ale Magar stated that the Prime Minister's absence while the President was reading the government's policy and program in parliament is not just a normal incident. Questioning the Prime Minister's secretariat citing health reasons, he sarcastically asked what kind of health condition deteriorates only during the President's address and recovers after it concludes. He clarified that if this was due to the Prime Minister's inexperience and immaturity, it could be forgiven, but if it was an intentional insult, it would not be acceptable. Speaking in the house, Ale Magar said, 'We demand information on the reason for the Prime Minister's absence when the President presents the policy and program in parliament. His secretariat cited health reasons; if it is due to health, what kind of health is it that deteriorates only during the President's address and recovers after it concludes? What kind of health is it? If it is due to his inexperience and immaturity, it might be forgivable, but what is it? Why did such an incident happen? We want to know about it. If this is an insult to the honorable President, we cannot tolerate it. What is the real reason? The Prime Minister must come to parliament and clarify it. If the Prime Minister himself is absent while the President is reading the address presented by the Prime Minister, it is not a normal matter.' Similarly, CPN-UML National Assembly Chief Whip Roshani Mechhe also demanded that the Prime Minister appear in parliament and provide information about the incident. Drawing attention to the fact that disrespectful and unconstitutional behavior should not be done by anyone in parliament, she expressed shame over the Prime Minister's actions. MPs have indicated that this issue will remain serious until the Prime Minister himself appears in parliament and clarifies the real reason for the incident.
