Kaski Police Arrest 23 Individuals in Sweep Operation

Kaski. Twenty-three individuals have been arrested during a sweep operation conducted by the District Police Office, Kaski. The police have taken under control those involved in activities such as making noise under the influence of alcohol and drugs, fighting, gambling, and disturbing peace and security in various locations.

Police teams deployed from the District Police Office, Kaski, and the subordinate Ward Police Office, Bagar, conducted the operation from 6 PM to 10 PM on April 28, 2083 BS. The police have taken 7 people under control from the Bagar, Tundikhel, Baglung Buspark, Nadippur, and Tersapatti areas of Pokhara Metropolitan City. Similarly, 5 people were arrested from Persyang and Harichok areas, and 11 people were arrested from Batulechaur, Sarangkot, and Lamachaur areas.

Among those arrested, 3 individuals involved in gambling have had their detention extended by seven days for investigation under the offense against public interest, health, security, convenience, and morality, specifically the prohibition of gambling or betting, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police and Information Officer Hari Bahadur Basnet. According to him, 7 individuals involved in making noise and fighting under the influence of alcohol and drugs have had their detention extended by ten days for indecent behavior.

The police released 7 other individuals found walking under the influence of alcohol after imposing a fine of one thousand rupees each from the District Administration Office, Kaski. The remaining 6 individuals were released on bail, handed over to their relatives.
