Main Highways Affected by Rain and Natural Disasters

Kathmandu. Due to continuous rain and natural disasters, various main highways of the country have been affected. According to the updated details as of 8 AM today, some road sections are completely closed due to floods and landslides, while some are operating only one-way.

Vehicle operation has been completely stopped on the Khurkot-Nepal Thok-Katuñjebesi road section in Kavrepalanchok district. This section of the BP Highway has been closed since Baishakh 22, keeping in mind the potential risk of floods. Vehicles are not allowed to operate in that area for safety reasons.

Obstructions also remain on two main highways in Koshi Province. The road was obstructed due to a flood that occurred on Baishakh 12 in Bokhim, Ward No. 5 of Bhojpur Municipality. Currently, the road has been made one-way after arranging an alternative route at that location.

The highway has been affected by a landslide that occurred on Baishakh 23 in Naya Basti, Ward No. 3 of Makalu Rural Municipality, Sankhuwasabha. Currently, the road has been brought into one-way operation after clearing the landslide at that location.
