Arab Parliament Speaker Condemns Attacks in Qatar and Kuwait

Kathmandu. Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi has condemned the attacks in Qatar and Kuwait on Sunday.

According to the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a commercial cargo ship traveling in Qatar's waters northeast of the Mesaieed port was targeted by drones on Sunday morning. Although the ship caught fire due to the attack, there were no human casualties. Qatar has described this attack as a gross violation of international law and a dangerous step to increase tension in the region.

Meanwhile, Kuwait's Ministry of Defense also reported seeing a large number of 'hostile drones' in its airspace early Sunday morning.

Al-Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, the legislative body of the Arab League, issued separate statements on social media calling these attacks a violation of sovereignty and a 'direct threat to regional security and stability'.

Earlier, Fars News Agency and Iranian state media claimed that the ship attacked near Qatar was US-owned and traveling under the US flag.
