Woman Resists Gunpoint Robbery Attempt at Silver Shop

Kathmandu. Sajina Shakya, who works at a silver shop in Bhedasingh, Kathmandu, fought back and chased away a group trying to rob the shop at gunpoint. On Baisakh 17, Shakya showed great courage and resisted even when the robbers entered Naina & Ishan Jewellery, operated by Babita Rauniyar, and tried to loot it with a pistol. IGP Dan Bahadur Karki summoned Sajina, who lives in Wotu, Kathmandu, to the Police Headquarters and honored her. After being honored, Shakya said, 'Two thieves came to rob my workplace, I resisted, I tell everyone to be brave, be courageous.' Police have arrested two people who entered the shop, pulled the shutter, and showed a pistol, and one person who was doing reconnaissance outside. Sajina thanked the police for arresting the accused. It has been revealed that the mastermind of the robbery that took place on Baisakh 17 was a young man who runs a cafe near Indrachok. An official at the District Police Range, Kathmandu, involved in the investigation told Ratopati that Arun Bhujel, who operates a cafe in Indrachok, planned the robbery. Police have arrested Bhujel, Harikrishna Maharjan, a resident of Mahalakshmi Municipality-6, Lalitpur, and Bikesh Rajbahak. Cafe operator Bhujel knew Sajina for about 12 years. Police investigation concludes that he took advantage of her being alone in the shop, planned, and went to rob with a pistol. Police investigation has revealed that the accused changed their appearance in three stages because the victim could recognize them. All three were in different clothes before going to rob. Investigation officers say they changed their appearance while going to rob and after returning without being able to rob. They changed their appearance after leaving the clothes they wore while going to rob in an alley near the scene. Police have recovered the pistol used in the robbery from the accused Arun Bhujel. Investigation has revealed that the group also robbed 4 lakh cash, an iPhone, and a 2-tola chain in Masagalli, New Road on Push 21, 2082, said DSP Kaushal Budhathoki of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, to Ratopati. He said, 'This team is also involved in the Masagalli robbery, further investigation is ongoing.'
