Municipal Chiefs Discuss Education, Health, and Land Encroachment

Sarlahi. Chiefs of various municipalities held discussions and made decisions on contemporary issues in Hariwan Municipality on Friday. The meeting, chaired by Hariwan Municipality Mayor Ramesh Budhathoki, was attended by the chiefs of Ishworepur, Barahathawa, Lalbandi, Haripur, and Bagmati Municipalities.

In the meeting, special discussions were held on the operation of educational institutions, operation of health institutions, and encroachment of government and public land.

Following the discussions, it was concluded that the provision regarding public holidays should be reconsidered to maintain quality in the education sector and regularize teaching and learning. For this, it has been decided to coordinate and cooperate with the Nepal government and the provincial government.

Similarly, regarding health institutions, it was emphasized that an environment should be ensured for the continuous operation of essential services, as the service delivery has been affected due to public holidays. The meeting also decided to request the government to improve holiday management to make health services effective.

Likewise, on the issue of encroachment of government and public land, it has been decided to urge the advancement of necessary processes to identify and properly manage landless, Dalits, squatters, and unorganized settlers in accordance with the 100-point reform agenda recently issued by the government.

The meeting concluded that necessary initiatives will be taken in coordination with the provincial government on these issues.
