Second South Asia Trade Fair 2062 Begins

Kathmandu. With the objective of bringing together business, trade and service opportunities in the South Asian region in one place, the 'Second South Asia Trade Fair 2062' has started from today.

The fair, which started at the Bhrikutimandap complex in Exhibition Road, has participation from business groups of Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Pakistan and Afghanistan. The fair, which will run until Baisakh 28, was jointly inaugurated by ambassadors and industrialists-businessmen from various countries here.

The fair, which started under the management of Introduction Trade Shows Nepal, is being operated in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Export Promotion Bureau of Bangladesh. The fair has been supported by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment of Bhutan.

It is estimated that more than five thousand entrepreneurs-businessmen from the SAARC region and more than one lakh local visitors will participate in the fair, where pavilions of various countries have been set up. The exhibition is believed to promote exportable goods and encourage the business community.

According to fair coordinator Suman Maharjan, the exhibition features domestic and handicraft materials, indigenous food items, readymade garments and beauty products, furniture, agricultural products, information technology, domestic appliances, electric vehicles, and other materials.

It is expected that the exhibition will help promote products and services, study market potential, expand cooperation between buyers and sellers, and strengthen trade relations between various countries, he said.
