BP Highway Reopens After Three Days Due to Flood

Kavrepalanchok. The BP Highway, obstructed by floods, has opened after three days. Vehicle movement has resumed on this route since this morning by creating a temporary 'diversion'.

The District Police Office has requested all concerned to avoid traveling on this route except for essential purposes as the rain continues. The road was closed due to floods in the Roshi River following the rains last Monday.

The police have been closing traffic as the temporary diversion constructed in about four kilometers of the Roshi area is likely to be damaged as soon as it rains. When the highway is obstructed, vehicles are kept in Dhulikhel and Kavrebhanjyang and Mangaltar and Sindhuli's Nepalthok.

Last year, due to floods and landslides, 18 km of the road in the Chaukidanda, Roshi, and Sindhuli's Nepalthok areas of the highway were washed away, and vehicles were operated by constructing diversions in the river itself. Road construction is currently underway in that area.
