Central Electricity Expansion Transforms Life in Khairang, Bhojpur

Bhojpur. Following the expansion of central electricity in the Khairang area of Hatuwagadhi Rural Municipality-4, a change is being observed in the lifestyle of the local citizens. Residents who were dependent on alternative energy for a long time have now reached the access of electricity service.

According to Ward Chairman Chandrabahadur Bisht, with the expansion of electricity lines in the villages through the initiative of the local level and coordination of the concerned bodies, central transmission lines have been connected to most of the houses. He stated that after much effort, they have succeeded in bringing electricity service to all the settlements in the ward. "We have succeeded in expanding central electricity to all parts of the ward," he said, "With the expansion of electricity service, convenience has increased in the villages."

Local resident Dirghasingh Karki said that while previously there was a compulsion to depend on alternative means like lamps, 'tuki', and solar, there is now convenience. He stated that with the availability of electricity service, convenience has increased from household chores to the study-teaching of children. "There was a situation of living in darkness before, now it has become much easier with the light," he said.

With the expansion of electricity access, the use of information and communication technology has also increased. Karki said that with the convenience in services like television, mobile charging, and internet use, the quality of life of the citizens has improved qualitatively.

Similarly, the electricity service has also had a positive impact on the operation of small and cottage industries. Local resident Tankabahadur Darji said that with the ease of operating services like grinding-milling, tailoring, furniture, and other enterprises, the possibility of creating local employment has increased.

He stated that electricity access has also added convenience in basic sectors like health and education. The expansion of electricity has made it easier to operate necessary equipment in health institutions, and it has created a basis for implementing technology-friendly education systems in schools.

The improvement in the standard of living of the citizens in the Khairang area with the expansion of central electricity has given new momentum to rural development, according to the locals.
