Three Drivers Arrested for Drug Use While Driving in Kirtipur

Kathmandu. Three drivers driving vehicles after consuming drugs (lapshe) have been taken under control by the traffic police in Kirtipur, Kathmandu. They were arrested during a special checking conducted on Tuesday in front of the Tribhuvan University (TU) gate in Kirtipur Municipality Ward Number 10. Among those arrested are the drivers of an electric microbus, a JCB, and a DI vehicle. A joint team of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, Narcotics Control Bureau, and Traffic Police Division Kirtipur, with the assistance of a technical team from the Nepal Police Hospital, conducted a checking campaign in the Kirtipur area. During the campaign, they were found driving vehicles in a manner that endangered the lives of passengers and road users after consuming drugs. All three drivers taken into custody have been sent to the Kirtipur Police Circle for further investigation and necessary legal action.
