Man Arrested for Lewd Act in Public in Syangja

Syangja. A 20-year-old youth has been arrested for committing a lewd act in a public place on the pretext of giving a lift in Syangja. 

The arrested person has been identified as 20-year-old Divas Sunar from Ward No. 9 of Putalibazar Municipality, Syangja. Based on the complaint of the victim woman, a special operation team dispatched from the District Police Office, Syangja, took him under control from Ward No. 1 of Putalibazar Municipality while he was fleeing. 

According to the police, on the morning of April 22, 2083 BS, at around 7:00 AM, the youth gave the woman a lift on his motorcycle. He took her to a secluded road section in Malebagar, Ward No. 1 of Putalibazar Municipality, and asked for her phone number. When the woman refused to give her number, the youth opened his lower body clothes and showed a lewd act. 

The District Police Office, Syangja, has forwarded the arrested Sunar for further investigation and legal proceedings. Meanwhile, Police Deputy Superintendent Prasanna Raj Chaudhary, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Syangja, issued a statement urging all women to remain alert and cautious if any stranger offers a lift on a motorcycle.
