Roads Affected by Landslides Due to Continuous Rain

Kathmandu. Due to continuous rain for the past few days, landslides have occurred on various major highways across the country, affecting transportation services. According to statistics released by the Nepal Police, obstructions have been observed on major road sections in Bagmati, Gandaki, and Koshi provinces.

The alternative short route connecting Kathmandu with Hetauda, Kanti Lokpath, is completely blocked. This road has been shut down due to landslides that occurred at 5:55 AM today in Pandur of Bagmati Rural Municipality-3, Lalitpur, and in Bhajyangdanda of Bhimfedi Rural Municipality-8, Makwanpur.

Similarly, the Arniko Highway is also completely blocked due to the Ikku landslide in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-2, Sindhupalchok. This road has been obstructed since Bhadra 16.

Under the Mid-Hill Highway, the road was completely closed after a landslide occurred at 6:50 AM today in Bimirebhanjyang of Madhyanepl Rural Municipality-10, Lamjung.

Likewise, on the Beni-Jomsom road section in Myagdi, the road is operating only one-way due to a landslide in Jalathale of Annapurna Rural Municipality-3.

The Mid-Hill Highway has been affected by floods in Bokhim of Bhojpur Municipality-5, Koshi Province. However, the police have stated that transportation has been resumed one-way using an alternative route there.
