Rastriya Swatantra Party MP Sagar Dhakal Claims Major 'Surgery' Initiated in Nepal's Politics and Administration

Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party MP Sagar Dhakal has claimed that a major 'surgery' has begun in the country's political and administrative structure.

Issuing a message on social media, Dhakal claimed that out of the three main agendas he put forward three years ago, the goal of making a prime minister under 40 has been achieved, and the remaining two agendas are also in the implementation phase.

He considers the ordinance recently authenticated by the President as the main starting point for the country's transformation. According to Dhakal, with the issuance of this ordinance, 1,594 officials appointed to various state bodies on political grounds have been simultaneously removed from their posts.

He alleged that the individuals holding these positions were appointed not based on competence but on political affiliation, and they had hollowed out the country from within like termites. He asserted that Nepali experts, knowledgeable about both the country and abroad, will now be recruited impartially for these vacant positions, after which the country will gain proper momentum.

Dhakal mentioned that work that could not be done in the past 30 years is being accomplished within a month, stating that about 80 percent of the work is being done according to public expectations. However, he admitted that about 20 percent of the work remains, which has caused distress to some parties, and he even apologized for it.

Dhakal clarified that the current step is not intended to cause personal distress to anyone but to advance the country. He argued that while it is impossible to please everyone all the time, the results of this step will be positive in the long run.

Further clarifying his stance, Dhakal compared the current situation to a patient undergoing surgery. He stated that it is wiser to save a life through an operation, even if it involves some pain, rather than nurturing a disease and awaiting death, and that the current tough decision is essential to save the country.

He publicly announced on social media that this opportunity will never come again, and therefore, there is pressure and responsibility to achieve something now.
