Weather Forecast: Rain and Snow Expected in Various Parts of Nepal

Kathmandu. Currently, Nepal is under the influence of westerly and local winds and a low-pressure area in the lower atmosphere near the eastern parts of Nepal, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated. Also, the trough of low pressure spread from east to west is located near the eastern parts of Nepal.

Due to its influence, it is currently cloudy in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in the Himalayan and hilly regions of the country. Light rain is occurring in some places in Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

This afternoon, the hilly and Himalayan regions of the country will generally be cloudy, and the Tarai regions will be partly cloudy. There is a possibility of moderate rain and snowfall with thunderstorms in some places in the Himalayan and hilly regions of the country, in some places in the Tarai of Madhesh Province and Koshi Province, and in one or two places in the remaining Tarai regions.

Tonight, the country will generally be cloudy. There is a possibility of moderate rain and snowfall with thunderstorms, gusty winds, and hail in some places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and in a few places in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. There is also a possibility of heavy rainfall with thunderstorms in one or two places in the hilly regions of Lumbini Province.
