Man Arrested for Alleged Rape in Ramchhap

Ramchhap. A 41-year-old man has been arrested on charges of raping a woman in Umakunda Rural Municipality of Ramchhap.

Bhim Bahadur Damai, also known as Majhi, a resident of Bundaldanda in Uకుండా Rural Municipality-7, was taken into police custody on Friday morning on the accusation of raping a 40-year-old woman.

A complaint was filed with the police alleging that Damai forcibly raped the woman. Based on that complaint, a team comprising the District Police Office Ramchhap and a local police unit arrested him. The police showed promptness immediately after receiving information about the incident and apprehended the accused.

The police have currently initiated necessary legal proceedings against the arrested Damai under the offense of rape. The District Police Office has stated that further detailed investigation into the incident is underway.
