Government Begins Demolition of Unauthorised Structures on Public Land in Sinamangal

Kathmandu. The government has started removing unauthorised houses and huts built on public land in Sinamangal. The metropolis drove bulldozers over those structures on Saturday as part of an campaign to protect public land and manage the urban landscape. The metropolis had previously issued a notice to remove such structures that had occupied public spaces and riverbanks for a long time. Dozens of huts and illegally operated commercial structures were demolished during the action, coordinated by local administration and city police. The government has recently intensified the removal of unauthorised constructions that obstruct the protection of public land, drainage, and road expansion. This action in the Sinamangal area is believed to help further systematise the Bagmati corridor and its surroundings.
