Buddha Jayanti Celebrated Across Nepal

Kathmandu. Today is the 2570th Buddha Jayanti. Buddha Jayanti is being celebrated with prayers and various programs at Buddhist stupas, viharas, and gumbas across the country, including the birthplace of Buddha, Lumbini.

Devotees are also celebrating the festival by participating in prayers, meditation, and worship at Swayambhunath stupa in Kathmandu. A crowd of Buddhists and general public has been thronging the Swayambhunath area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, since early morning today.

On the occasion of Buddha Jayanti, special prayers will be offered at the Buddha temple located at Swayambhu Mahachaitya today.
