Buddha Jayanti Celebrated with Special Festivities in Lumbini

Rupandehi. This year's Buddha Jayanti has been celebrated with special festivities in the birthplace of Buddha, Lumbini. The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu celebrated this day by organizing various programs in collaboration with the Lumbini Development Trust and Lumbini Buddhist University. 

Lumbini Province Chief Krishna Bahadur Gharti Magar participated as the chief guest at the ceremony. In the program organized on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti, school students exhibited paintings based on Buddha's life and messages of peace. The atmosphere of Lumbini became spiritual as Buddhist monks from India and Nepal jointly offered prayers and recited peace chants.

The cultural program organized in the evening mesmerized everyone present. A team led by Deepti Gupta from the Indian Council for Cultural Relations presented a Kathak dance based on the philosophy of Buddhism. 

Similarly, the tune presented by Nepali Sarod player Sureshraj Bajracharya and his musical band added more splendor to the program.
