BP Koirala Cancer Hospital to Appoint New Chairman Through Open Application

Chitwan. The vacant post of Chairman at the BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital here will be filled through an open application. The Ministry of Health and Population published a notice on Tuesday stating that eligible individuals can submit their applications within seven days.

The notice specifies the qualifications as per Section 7, Sub-section (1), Clause (a) of the Hospital Act, 2053. Accordingly, to become Chairman, one must have at least a postgraduate degree in medical science from a recognized educational institution and have worked in the field of cancer for at least 15 years, or possess at least a postgraduate degree in medical science from a recognized educational institution and have at least 20 years of experience in the health sector as a senior physician, nominated by the government.

The term of the Chairman will be three years. Previously, the Council of Ministers, in its meeting on Chaitra 20, 2079, had decided to appoint Dr. Vijayraj Neupane as the hospital's Chairman. Following the completion of his three-year term, the process for appointing a new Chairman has begun. This is the first time the Chairman is being appointed through an open application.
