Rastriya Swatantra Party Begins Process to Select Local Election Candidates

Kathmandu. The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has started homework to make the candidate selection process for the upcoming local level elections transparent, inclusive, and merit-based. The party has officially sought suggestions from all constituency committees for the formulation of the candidate selection framework.

The RSP's central committee meeting held on Baisakh 7 had formed a 7-member 'Local Election Candidate Selection Framework and Candidate Club Editing Committee' under the convenorship of Joint-General Secretary Bipinkumar Acharya. The committee meeting held on Baisakh 14 decided to collect suggestions from constituency committees across the country, as mentioned in a letter issued by Secretary RK Dhungana.

The party has directed all constituency committees to hold in-depth discussions within their committees and prepare practical, objective, and implementable suggestions.

Based on the experience and learning from the federal elections, the RSP aims to make the candidate selection process for the upcoming local elections more scientific, credible, and people-oriented.
