Nepal Weather Office Warns of High Winds Across Several Provinces

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division, has issued a special bulletin warning of the possibility of strong winds in various parts of the country today. 

The division has urged the general public to exercise necessary caution from this afternoon until tomorrow morning.

According to the division, there is a possibility of strong winds in various districts of Sudurpashchim, Lumbini, Gandaki, Bagmati, Madhesh, and Koshi provinces. Caution has been advised particularly in Kanchanpur, Dadeldhura, and Doti in Sudurpashchim Province; Bardiya, Banke, Dang, Arghakhanchi, and Parasi in Lumbini Province; Nawalpur and Chitwan in Gandaki and Bagmati provinces; Bara, Parsa, and Dhanusha in Madhesh Province; and Jhapa and Morang in Koshi Province. 

The bulletin states that the windstorm is expected to start from Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 PM and continue until Thursday morning at 6:45 AM.

According to meteorologists, this system, which brings thunderstorms, lightning, and hail, is currently moving from west to east across the country. Its impact is expected to be felt in many places across the country.
