Bagmati Gold Cup Football Tournament Kicks Off May 1 in Makwanpur

Makwanpur. The opening match of the Bagmati Gold Cup, scheduled to begin in Bagmati Rural Municipality of Makwanpur on Baishakh 17, will feature the organizers and Bagmati Youth Club. The schedule for the eighth edition of the Bagmati Gold Cup National Football Tournament was unveiled at a press conference on Tuesday.

According to the schedule, the opening match will be played between the organizing Bagmati Sports Development Committee and Bagmati Youth Club of Sarlahi. The match will be held on Thursday at 3:30 PM at the Shahid Smriti Stadium in Bagmati-4.

Similarly, on the 18th, Tribhuvan Army Club Kathmandu and Navajagriti Club of Bara, on the 19th, departmental Armed Police Force's APF and Chitlang FC, Kathmandu, on the 20th, Lalitpur's Church Boys, who received a bye, will compete against the organizers and Bagmati Youth Club. On the 21st, Lalitpur's Friends Club and Planning Boys United, and on the 22nd, Machhindra Club, Kathmandu, who received a bye, will play against the winner of the match between APF and Chitlang.

The semi-final matches of the tournament will be held on the 23rd and 24th, while the final match will be held on Baishakh 26. A total of 10 teams, including the organizers, are participating in the tournament.

The winner of the tournament will receive Rs 10 lakh and the runner-up will receive Rs 5 lakh. The best player of the tournament will receive Rs 1 lakh 1 thousand, the best players in each category will receive Rs 25,000 each, and the man of the match in each game will receive Rs 10,000 each.
