Nepali Congress Spokesperson Criticizes Government's Ordinance Move

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress spokesperson Devraj Chalise has stated that postponing the parliamentary session to bring ordinances is not dignified. Talking to journalists after a meeting of the Central Working Committee on Monday, Chalise said that the process of law-making should be transparent through parliament.

"We found that the parliament session, once called, was postponed without information," Chalise said. "On one hand, postponing the called parliament, and on the other hand, bypassing parliament to bring ordinances, is not a dignified step."

He added that preparing to bring ordinances in this manner would not provide any advantage to the government. Spokesperson Chalise stated that attempting to bring ordinances by postponing the convened Federal Parliament session is not appropriate from any perspective.
