Nepal, ADB, World Bank Review Development Projects

Kathmandu. A tripartite review meeting between the Government of Nepal, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and the World Bank has concluded. A tripartite country portfolio performance review was held between the government, ADB, and the World Bank regarding the effectiveness and implementation status of development projects operating in Nepal.

The meeting was conducted for two days on April 23 and 24. The main objective of the meeting was to address the challenges seen during the implementation of development projects and to find effective measures necessary to improve the project work, the ADB stated.

The tripartite review meeting was co-chaired by Nepal's Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle, ADB's Country Director for Nepal Arno Hoekstra, and the World Bank's Acting Operations Manager for Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka S. Amer Ahmad.

Detailed discussions were held in the meeting regarding project progress, capital expenditure status, and strategies to be adopted in the coming days.

The review meeting is expected to provide important guidance for the timely and effective completion of projects operated with the support of donor agencies in Nepal, the ADB stated.
