Weather Update: Partial Influence of Westerly and Local Winds Across Nepal

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that Nepal is currently experiencing the partial influence of westerly and local winds. As a result, the hilly and mountainous regions of the country, including Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, are experiencing generally cloudy conditions. The weather in the Terai region of Sudurpashchim Province remains mainly clear. 

This afternoon, the hilly and mountainous regions of the country, including Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, will be generally cloudy, while the remaining regions will see partial cloud cover. 

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning and snowfall in some places of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Madhesh, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, and one or two places in the Terai region of Lumbini Province. Hot weather conditions are expected in the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Tonight, the hilly and mountainous regions of the country will remain generally cloudy, while the Terai region will experience partial cloud cover. The Department has stated that there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces.
