Heavy Rainfall Hits Various Districts Across Nepal

Kathmandu. With the change in weather, heavy rainfall has occurred in various districts of the country today. According to records from the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, heavy rainfall was measured in Lamjung, Rolpa, Pyuthan, and Kavrepalanchok within the last 12 hours.

The details received show that the highest rainfall was recorded in Lamjung at 87.4 millimeters (near very heavy), while Rolpa received 65.2, Pyuthan 74.6, and Kavre 63.6 millimeters (heavy rainfall).

Similarly, Kaski received 33, Gulmi 37, and Dhankuta 37 millimeters of rain. Department meteorologist Binu Maharjan stated that since rain will occur in many parts of the country starting today, the heatwave will decrease. The department has indicated that rainfall has increased from today and this trend is expected to rise further.

The department stated that there is currently a partial influence of westerly and local winds in Nepal. According to the department, tomorrow, Sunday, the hilly and mountainous regions of the country, including Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, will be generally cloudy, while the remaining parts will be partly cloudy.

Likewise, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain/snowfall accompanied by thunder/lightning in some places of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Madhesh, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, and one or two places in the Terai region of Lumbini province. In a bulletin issued this evening, the department informed that the possibility of hot days remains in the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces.
