Mahankal Rural Municipality Launches Door-to-Door Social Security Allowance Distribution

Lalitpur. With the aim of making the distribution of social security allowances more convenient, simple, and citizen-friendly, Mahankal Rural Municipality in South Lalitpur has begun delivering allowances directly to the doorsteps of beneficiaries.

According to the Rural Municipality Vice-Chairperson Dolma Maya Gole, the system of delivering allowances at home has been implemented for the convenience of senior citizens, single women, and citizens with physical disabilities.

Vice-Chairperson Gole stated, “Many wards in our municipality are located in remote and inaccessible areas. The compulsion for senior citizens, single women, and disabled citizens to travel to the bank at the municipal center in Gotikhel to collect their allowances has now ended. Therefore, we have moved forward with the task of distributing social security allowances at their doorsteps.”

According to her, the service was formally launched from Mahankal Rural Municipality-6, Thuladurlung. Senior citizens, individuals with disabilities, and single women have expressed their happiness upon receiving their allowances at home. The municipality has stated that it is preparing to expand this service to all wards in the coming days.

Similarly, Vice-Chairperson Gole informed that services such as citizenship recommendations, social security services, and vital event registrations will be made available at the ward level through mobile camps.

The rural municipality has stated that it will continue the campaign to make service delivery more effective and citizen-centric with the slogan, ‘Now, services at your doorstep, not at the municipal office.’
