Kathmandu Mayor Balendra Shah to Visit India

Kathmandu. Prime Minister Balendra (Balen) Shah is going to visit India. India has already extended an invitation to Balen for the visit, and he has accepted the invitation.

With the visit confirmed, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has started preparations. However, the final date is yet to be decided.

Earlier, when Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal was in Mauritius, he had stated that Prime Minister Balen's visit to India would happen soon. Prime Minister Balen's visit was also discussed during Khanal's meeting with Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.

Minister Jaishankar had said that the Foreign Ministry would soon send a foreign secretary to prepare for Prime Minister Balen's visit. Preparations for Balen's foreign visit began after Foreign Minister Khanal returned from Mauritius.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Lok Bahadur Chhetri said that initial preparations have now begun. He said, 'Initial preparations for the Prime Minister's visit to India have started.'

According to sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a high-level delegation from India is scheduled to visit soon to discuss the preparations for Prime Minister Balen's visit. This will be Balen's first foreign visit after being appointed Prime Minister.
